Every year Studentproof Jazz organizes the Whiskey & Jazz festival. Due to covid, we couldn’t organize this, so we came up with a summer alternative: Gin & Jazz! It will be an awesome evening filled with performances from Studentproof bands a guest performance and a very cool gin bar for cocktails. A perfect night to celebrate that we can enjoy music together again!
Below you can already find details about the performances, a detailed program of the evening will follow soon.
With sayings like “Any intelligent musician can read, write and count to four!” and “The oxygen in the air is for free, you are dutch, use it!” Charles Green is leading Studentproof Bigband, the student bigband of Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). Split from our sister association ESMG Quadrivium in 1989 to pursue the Jazz genre, the bigband consists of around 20 students and former students with the goal of playing jazz music at a semi-professional level.
Highlight of the evening will undoubtedly be the guest performance of Dutch jazz legend, trumpet player: Eric Vloeimans. He will surely blow the roof off Corona Hall. Holland’s finest trumpeter has a long jazz career, from getting lessons in New York by the great Donald Byrd to playing with Joey Baron, Michiel Borstlap and Buge Wesseltoft and many, many more.
